NCI executes first West Coast MACMO Contract
In July 2016 Naval Coating, Inc. will, in partnership with BAE Systems San Diego, the South West Regional Maintenance Center and its fellow subcontractors, begin work aboard USS Paul Hamilton (DDG-60). This contract will set the new standard for how maintenance availabilities are executed for naval vessels. The objective of this new maintenance concept is to control escalating repair costs in an increasingly austere defense budgetary environment while at the same time providing increased opportunity for small businesses to participate in ship repair work. NCI was a natural choice for this work – as a leading small business on the San Diego waterfront with a proven track record of superior performance and economic stewardsmanship of scares defense dollars, NCI is able to bring careful management as well as aggressive preservation work and innovative new methods to bear. NCI eagerly anticipates getting to work in DDG-60 and returning this “Greyhound of the Fleet” to operational service!
